Balgam
Balgam, alt havayollarından öksürük mukusudur. Tıp alanında balgam numuneleri genellikle solunum yolu enfeksiyonlarının mikrobiyolojik incelemeleri ve solunum sistemlerinin sitolojik incelenmesi için kullanılır. En iyi balgam numuneleri çok az tükürük içerir, çünkü bu numuneyi oral bakterilerle kirletir. Bu olay, klinik mikrobiyolog tarafından balgamdaki bir Gram boyasını inceleyerek değerlendirilir.
