Transakslar, motorun tahrik tekerlekleri ile aynı ucuna yerleştirilmiş tüm otomobil yapılandırmalarında evrensel yakındır: ön motor, ön tekerlek tahrik düzeni, arka motor, arka tekerlek tahrik düzeni ve arka orta motor , arkadan tekerlek tahrik düzeni düzenlemeleri. Birçok orta ve arka motorlu araçlarda, ön tekerlek tahrik ünitesine benzer şekilde bir transvers motor ve transaks kullanılmaktadır.
