İngilizce sözlükte transitive sözcüğünün tanımı
Sözlükte geçişli olanın ilk tanımı, doğrudan bir nesne gerektirdiğinde ya da geleneksel olarak doğrudan bir nesneyi gerektiren bir fiili ifade ettiğinde, bir fiilin bir oluşumunu belirtir. Geçişin diğer tanımı, sevgi gibi bir sıfatı ya da bir isim cümlesini gerektiren ve böyle bir isim cümlesine örtülü ya da açıkça atıf yapılmaksızın kullanılamayan koca gibi bir ismi ifade etmektir.
