WEFT SÖZCÜĞÜ İNGILIZCE DİLİNDE NE ANLAMA GELİR?
Atkı
Dokumada, atkı, kumaş oluşturmak için çözgü iplikleri boyunca çekilen iplik veya ipliğin terimidir. Çözgü, ruloda uzunlamasına veya uzunlamasına iplik, atkı ise çapraz ipliktir. Çözgüden geçerek atkı tekli bir ipliğe bir sıkma denir. Şartlar değişir. Atkı ipliği eğrilmiş liften yapılmış bir iplik veya iplikten oluşur. Kullanılan orijinal elyaflar yün, keten veya pamuktur. Günümüzde, dokuma işlerinde insan yapımı lifler sıklıkla kullanılmaktadır. Atkı, çözgü şeklindeki bir tezgahta gerilmesine gerek olmadığı için genellikle daha az kuvvetli olabilir. Atkı çözgü vasıtasıyla "mekik", hava püskürtücüsü veya "şimşek tutucu" kullanarak diş açılmıştır. El dokuma tezgahları orijinal dokumacının aleti idi, mekik de dönüşümlü olarak çözgülerle elle geçirilmiş haldeydi. 18. yüzyılda icatlar, "toplama çubuğu" ve kumaş üretimini hızlandıran "uçan mekik" ile Endüstriyel Devrimi hızlandırdı. 1785'de Edmund Cartwright tarafından patentlenen güç tezgahı, dakika başına altmış parçaya izin verdi. Çözgü nedir ve hangi atkıyı hatırlamanın faydalı bir yolu şudur: "bunlardan biri atkıdan atına" geçmektedir.
