mesenter Bağırsakların askıda kaldığı peritonun bir parçasıdır. Karın boşluğundaki iç organların çoğu peritonda kapsüllenmiş, ancak karın boşluğunda avantajlı olan uzun bağırsak yolunu kaplayan periton, bağırsak yolunun iki tarafında üst üste biner ve mezentere dönüşür. Mezenter içinde intestinal kanal, lenf damarları ve middotta dağılmış kan damarları vardır; 장간막
장을 매달아 유지하는 복막의 일부분이다. 복강 내 대부분의 내장기관은 복막에 싸여 있으나, 복강 내에서 유리하는 긴 장관(腸管)을 덮는 복막은 장관의 한 쪽에서 2장이 겹쳐서 장간막이 된다. 장간막 속에는 장관에 분포하는 혈관·림프관·신경이 지나가며 지방도 많다.
