Chiton

Chiton - antik Yunanistan'da giyilen, kısa kollu, Fenike kökenli, keten veya yünlü bir gömlek. Chiton, omuz yüksekliğine, fibula bağlarına veya düğmelere uzun kenarlar ile birlikte dikilmiş iki dikdörtgen kumaş parçasından oluşuyordu. Chiton doğrudan vücuda kondu; Gevşek olabilir veya kemer ile uzun veya kısa olabilir. İyonik çitler - M.Ö. 6. yüzyılın ortalarından itibaren zengin katlanmış ince keten kumaştan yapılmıştır. Kadınlar da, - M.Ö. 4. yüzyılın sonlarından itibaren giymeye başlamıştı. Göğüslerinin altında gözyaşı dökmeye başladılar. Chiton dorycki był zasadniczym ubiorem męskim, wojownicy nosili go pod pancerzem przeciwko otarciom ciała, ale kapłani i dostojnicy chętnie występowali w chitonach jońskich, niekiedy nawet z trenami. Prostszą i uboższą wersją chitonu był exomís; nosili go ci, którzy pracowali fizycznie. Była to bardzo lekka i luźna szata, spięta zazwyczaj jedynie na lewym ramieniu dla swobody ruchów.
