Хмара
У метеорології хмара - це видима маса рідких крапель або заморожених кристалів, зроблених з води або різних хімічних речовин, підвішених у атмосфері над поверхнею планетарного тіла. Ці суспендовані частинки також відомі як аерозолі і вивчаються в обласній фізичній гілці метеорології. Наземне утворення хмар є результатом дії атмосферного повітря в атмосфері Землі, яке насичується за рахунок одного або обох двох процесів; охолодження повітря та додавання водяної пари. При достатній насиченісті опади падають на поверхню; винятком є virga, який випаровується до досягнення поверхні. Хмари в тропосфері, атмосферний шар, найближчий до поверхні Землі, мають латинські назви внаслідок універсальної адаптації номенклатури Люка Говарда. Вона була введена в грудні 1802 р. І стала основою сучасної міжнародної системи, яка класифікує ці тропосферні аерозолі у кілька фізичних форм або категорій, потім перекладає їх у сім'ї низького, середнього та високого рівня відповідно до хмарної висоти хмар діапазон над поверхнею Землі.
