Гуманізм - це філософська та етична позиція, яка підкреслює цінність та агенцію людей, індивідуально та колективно, і взагалі віддає перевагу критичному мисленню та доказам на основі встановленого вчення чи віри. Сенс терміна гуманізм коливався, відповідно до послідовних інтелектуальних рухів, які ототожнювалися з нею. Проте, як правило, гуманізм називає перспективу, яка підтверджує деяке уявлення про "людську природу". У сучасні часи гуманістичні рухи, як правило, вирівняні з секуляризмом та нетеїстичними релігіями. Історично це не завжди так.
