Вінтаж у виноробстві - це процес збирання винограду та створення готового продукту (див. "Урожай (вино)"). Старовинний вино - виноградарство, виготовлене з винограду, який був усім або в першу чергу вирощеним і зібраним протягом одного конкретного року. У деяких винах це може означати якість, як у Портвіні, де портові будинки роблять і оголошують старовинний порт у найкращі роки. З цієї традиції загальне, хоч і невірне використання, застосовує цей термін до будь-якого вина, яке сприймається як особливо старе або особливо високої якості. Більшість країн дозволяють старовинному вино включати частину вина, що не є відріченим від позначеного на етикетці року.
