α2巨球蛋白分子量60-85万，沉降系数19.6S，含糖量8.4％，占α2球蛋白的4/5。 它主要在肝脏中合成，并且其在成纤维细胞和肺的贴壁细胞中的合成也已有报道。 作为血浆中的主要蛋白酶抑制剂，一分子蛋白酶和一分子α2巨球蛋白结合。 알파2마크로글로불린 분자량 60~80만, 침강 계수 19.6S, 당함량 8.4%로서 α2글로불린의 4/5를 차지한다. 주로 간에서 합성되는데, 섬유아세포, 폐의 adherent cell에서의 합성도 보고되어 있다. 혈장 중의 주된 프로테아제저지인자(protease inhibitor)로서, 프로테아제 1분자와 α2 마크로글로불린 1분자가 결합한다.
