Animismus
Animismus ist die Weltanschauung, dass nicht-menschliche Wesen ein spirituelles Wesen besitzen. Speziell wird der Animismus in der Anthropologie der Religion als Begriff für das Glaubenssystem oder die Kosmologie einiger indigener Stammesvölker verwendet, besonders vor der Entwicklung und / oder Infiltration des Kolonialismus und der organisierten Religion. Obwohl jede Kultur ihre eigenen Mythologien und Rituale hat, soll der "Animismus" den häufigsten, fundamentalen Faden der "geistigen" oder "übernatürlichen" Perspektiven der indigenen Völker beschreiben. Die animistische Perspektive ist so fundamental, weltlich, alltäglich und für selbstverständlich, dass die meisten animistischen Eingeborenen nicht einmal ein Wort in ihren Sprachen haben, das dem "Animismus" entspricht; Der Begriff ist ein anthropologisches Konstrukt, anstatt eines von den Menschen selbst bezeichnet. Vor allem aufgrund solcher ethnolinguistischen und kulturellen Diskrepanzen unterscheidet sich die Meinung davon, ob der Animismus auf einen breiten religiösen Glauben oder auf eine vollwertige Religion in seinem eigenen Recht verweist.
