Bennettitales
Bennettitales ist eine ausgestorbene Besatzung von Saatpflanzen, die zuerst in der Triaszeit auftauchte und in den meisten Gebieten gegen Ende der Kreidezeit ausgestorben war, obwohl einige Bennettitales in der Zeit in Tasmanien und Ostaustralien in Oligoomen zu überleben schienen. Manche waren durch dicke Stämme und knifflige zusammengesetzte Blätter charakterisiert, die eine oberflächliche Ähnlichkeit mit denen von Cycads hatten, die sich vor allem in der stomatischen Anordnung unterscheiden. Das Taxon besteht aus zwei Gruppen, die Cycadeoidaceae, vertreten durch Cycadeoidea und Monanthesia, die Stout-Stämme und Bisporangiate Strobili, und die Williamsoniaceae einschließlich Williamsonia, Williamsoniella, Wielandella und Ischnophyton, die schlanke, verzweigende Stämme hatte und entweder bisporangiate oder monosporangiate strobili. Bennettitales wurden unter die Anthophyten gestellt und für einige Zeit als nahe Verwandte der Blütenpflanzen wegen ihrer blütenartigen Fortpflanzungsstrukturen betrachtet.
