Equipartition Theorem
In der klassischen statistischen Mechanik ist der Equipartitionstheorem eine allgemeine Formel, die die Temperatur eines Systems mit seinen mittleren Energien bezieht. Der Äquipartitionstheorem ist auch als Gesetz der Gleichgewalt, Gleichgewalt der Energie oder einfach equipartition bekannt. Die ursprüngliche Idee der equipartition war, dass im thermischen Gleichgewicht Energie gleichmäßig unter allen ihren verschiedenen Formen geteilt wird; Zum Beispiel sollte die durchschnittliche kinetische Energie pro Freiheitsgrad in der Translationsbewegung eines Moleküls gleich der ihrer Rotationsbewegungen sein. Wie das viriale Theorem gibt es die durchschnittlichen durchschnittlichen kinetischen und potentiellen Energien für ein System bei einer gegebenen Temperatur, aus der die Wärmekapazität des Systems berechnet werden kann. Allerdings gibt equipartition auch die Mittelwerte der einzelnen Komponenten der Energie, wie die kinetische Energie eines bestimmten Teilchens oder die potentielle Energie einer einzigen Feder.
