Schlacht von Flodden
Die Schlacht von Flodden oder Flodden Field oder gelegentlich Schlacht von Branxton war ein Konflikt zwischen dem Königreich England und dem Königreich Schottland. Die Schlacht wurde in der Grafschaft Northumberland im Norden Englands am 9. September 1513 zwischen einer eindringenden Schottenarmee unter König James IV. Und einer englischen Armee, die vom Grafen von Surrey befehligt wurde, gekämpft. Es war ein englischer Sieg. In Bezug auf die Truppenzahlen war es die größte Schlacht zwischen den beiden Königreichen gekämpft. James IV wurde in der Schlacht getötet und wurde der letzte Monarch von den Britischen Inseln, um einen solchen Tod zu erleiden.
