Manorialismus
Der Manorialismus war ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der Feudalgesellschaft, war das organisatorische Prinzip der ländlichen Wirtschaft, das im Vatersystem des Spätrömischen Reiches entstand, wurde weithin in mittelalterlichen westlichen und Teilen Mitteleuropas praktiziert und wurde langsam durch das Aufkommen eines Geldes ersetzt -basierte Marktwirtschaft und neue Formen des Agrarvertrages. Der Manorialismus war geprägt von der Ausübung der Rechts- und Wirtschaftsmacht in einem Herr des Landsitzes, der ökonomisch von seinem eigenen direkten Landbesitz in einem Herrenhaus und von den obligatorischen Beiträgen eines rechtlich Gegenstandes der bäuerlichen Bevölkerung unter der Gerichtsbarkeit von sich selbst und seinem, Klosterhof Diese Verpflichtungen könnten auf verschiedene Weise, in Arbeit, in Art, oder in seltenen Fällen in Münze zahlbar sein. Bei der Betrachtung der Ursprünge des Klosterklosters stellte Walter Horn fest, daß "als kirchliches Kloster das karolingische Kloster wenig von dem Gewebe eines feudalen Erbes verschieden war, außer daß die Gesellschaftsgemeinschaft der Männer, für deren Nahrung diese Organisation beibehalten wurde, bestand Mönche, die Gott im Gesang dienten und einen Großteil ihrer Zeit beim Lesen und Schreiben verbrachten.
