Oboe
Die Oboe / oʊboʊ / ist eine Familie von doppelten Reed Holzbläser Musikinstrumente. Die am häufigsten verwendete Variante, die Standard-Oboe, spielt im Höhen- oder Sopranbereich. Es ist aus einem hölzernen Rohr ca. 65 cm lang, mit Metall-Tasten, eine konische Bohrung und Fackelglocke gemacht. Der Klang wird durch Einblasen in das Schilf und Vibrieren einer Luftsäule erzeugt. Der unverwechselbare Obouston ist vielseitig und wurde als "hell" bezeichnet. Wenn der Begriff Oboe allein verwendet wird, versteht man sich im Allgemeinen das Standard-Höheninstrument. In englischer Sprache, vor 1770, wurde das Standardinstrument hautbois, hoboy oder französisch hoboy genannt. Die Rechtschreibung "Oboe" wurde in Englisch aufgenommen c. 1770 von der italienischen oboè, eine Transliteration in dieser Sprache Orthographie der Ausstrahlung des französischen Namens des 17. Jahrhunderts. Ein Musiker, der die Oboe spielt, heißt Oboder.
