Plättchen
Plättchen, auch "Thrombozyten" genannt, sind Blutzellen, deren Funktion ist, Blutungen zu stoppen. Plättchen haben keinen Kern: sie sind Fragmente des Zytoplasmas, die sich aus den Megakaryozyten des Knochenmarks ableiten und dann in den Kreislauf gelangen. Diese unaktivierten Plättchen sind bikonvexe Scheibenstrukturen, die wie eine Linse geformt sind, 2-3 μm im grßten Durchmesser. Plättchen sind nur bei Säugetieren zu finden, eine Anpassung, die sich entwickelt haben könnte, um das Risiko des Todes von der Blutung bei der Geburt auszugleichen - ein Risiko, das für Säugetiere einzigartig ist. Auf einem gefärbten Blutabstrich erscheinen Thrombozyten als dunkelviolette Flecken, etwa 20% der Durchmesser der roten Blutkörperchen. Der Abstrich wird verwendet, um Thrombozyten für Größe, Form, qualitative Zahl und Verklumpen zu untersuchen. Das Verhältnis von Thrombozyten zu roten Blutkörperchen bei einem gesunden Erwachsenen beträgt 1/10 bis 1/20. Die Hauptfunktion der Thrombozyten ist es, zur Hämostase beizutragen: den Vorgang des Stoppens der Blutung an der Stelle des unterbrochenen Endothels. Sie sammeln sich an der Stelle und es sei denn, die Unterbrechung ist körperlich zu groß, sie stecken das Loch. Zuerst kleben Plättchen an Stoffe außerhalb des unterbrochenen Endothels: Haftung.
