Ingwer
Ingwer oder Ingwerwurzel ist das Rhizom der Pflanze Zingiber officinale, verbraucht als Zartheit, Medizin oder Gewürz. Es legt seinen Namen seiner Gattung und Familie. Die Handelsbemühungen des Römischen Reiches, die alle Arten von Gewürzen aus Indien importierten, brachten Ingwer ins Alte Rom, wo es sich über ganz Europa verbreitete.
