Transaminierung
Transaminierung ist eine chemische Reaktion zwischen zwei Molekülen. Eines ist eine Aminosäure, die eine Aminogruppe enthält. Die andere ist eine Ketosäure, die eine Ketogruppe enthält. Bei der Transaminierung wird die NH2-Gruppe an einem Molekül mit der = O-Gruppe am anderen Molekül ausgetauscht. Die Aminosäure wird zur Ketosäure, und die Ketosäure wird zur Aminosäure. Die Transaminierung in der Biochemie erfolgt durch Enzyme, die Transaminasen oder Aminotransferasen genannt werden. Dieser Prozess ist ein wichtiger Schritt in der Synthese einiger nicht-essentieller Aminosäuren. Die Chiralität einer Aminosäure wird während der Transaminierung bestimmt. Diese Reaktion verwendet das Coenzym PLP und hat sich als eine kinetisch perfekte Reaktion erwiesen. Das Produkt der Transaminierungsreaktionen hängt von der Verfügbarkeit von alpha-Ketosäuren ab. Die Produkte sind in der Regel entweder Alanin, Aspartat oder Glutamat, da ihre entsprechenden Alpha-Ketosäuren durch den Stoffwechsel von Brennstoffen hergestellt werden. Serin und Threonin sind die einzigen zwei Aminosäuren, die nicht immer einer Transaminierung unterliegen und eher Serin oder Threonin Dehydrogenase verwenden.
