Tabla ist ein Musikinstrument in der Trommelfamilie, das einen Holzrahmen hat und an einer Öffnung mit Knochen bedeckt ist. Tabla wird normalerweise sitzend gespielt. Er spielte mit einem Handschlurf direkt. Die Entstehung von Tabla findet sich in Indien. Das Schnitzen auf Bhava Gua im Staat von Maharashtra in Indien zeigt eine Frau, die Tabla und eine andere Frau spielt, die Tanz, seit 200 BC spielt. Taals sind seit der Veda oder Upanishad Ära in Indien gewachsen. Das Ergebnis war, dass Pushkar lange vor Pakhawaj existiert hatte. Es gibt viele andere Tabla-Schnitzereien in Tempeln in ganz Indien. Zum Beispiel zeigen die Schnitzereien aus dem 12. Jahrhundert im Hoysala-Tempel in Karnataka, Indien, Tabla spielende Frauen.
