Bibliophilie

The term "bibliophilia" generally refers to the collection of beautiful, rare or historically valuable books, mostly by private individuals, for the construction of a private library according to certain collection criteria. The bibliophile interest of the collector supports his endeavor to present his collection in one or more appropriate rooms and special furniture. The first relevant scientific journal Bulletin du Bibliophile was published in France in 1834. Der Ausdruck Bibliophilie bezeichnet allgemein das Sammeln von schönen, seltenen oder historisch wertvollen Büchern meist durch Privatpersonen zum Aufbau einer Privatbibliothek nach bestimmten Sammelkriterien. Das bibliophile Interesse des Sammlers unterstützt dabei sein Bestreben, seine Sammlung in einem oder mehreren angemessenen Räumen und speziellem Mobiliar zu präsentieren. Die erste einschlägige wissenschaftliche Zeitschrift Bulletin du Bibliophile erschien 1834 in Frankreich.
