biochip

Biochip

Biochip or microarray is a carrier material on which a large number of biological or biochemical evidence or tests are located on the narrowest, usually only fingernail-sized, space. It is a collective term for a variety of different test methods and technical procedures. The biochip types used in 2006 are not based on semiconductors, which is why biochips are generally not integrated circuits.
