Desegregation

Desegregation means the abolition of segregation, in particular the so-called "racial separation". In the United States, the segregation occurred in the 1960s as a result of mass protests and the decision of the Supreme Court in the Brown case. Board of Education. In the Republic of South Africa, the segregation began in the mid-1990s after the end of the apartheid policy. Desegregation was discussed in the United States mainly in the military and school. In the Republic of South Africa, segregation plays an important role in urban development. Desegregation bezeichnet die Aufhebung von Segregation, insbesondere der sogenannten „Rassentrennung“. In den Vereinigten Staaten erfolgte die Desegregation in den 1960er Jahren infolge von Massenprotesten und der Entscheidung des Supreme Courts im Fall Brown vs. Board of Education. In der Republik Südafrika begann die Desegregation erst Mitte der 1990er Jahre nach dem Ende der Apartheidspolitik. Desegregation wurde in den Vereinigten Staaten vor allem in Militär und Schule thematisiert. In der Republik Südafrika spielt Desegregation auch in der Stadtentwicklung eine wichtige Rolle.
