fermion

Fermion

Fermions are, in the physical sense, all particles which satisfy the Fermi-Dirac statistics. According to the spin-statistics theorem, they have a half-numbered spin, that is, etc. Fermions are, visibly speaking, those particles that make up matter. Fermions include: ▪ Among the elementary particles: the leptons and the quarks. ▪ among the assembled particles: among others, all of which are constructed from an odd number of quarks, such as, for example, all baryons, including the proton and the neutron. Fermions differ from the bosons, which correspond to the Bose-Einstein statistics and have an integer spin according to the spin-statistics theorem. An elementary particle in three spatial dimensions is always either a Fermion or a Boson. In very thin layers, ie two-dimensional systems, there are, besides bosons and fermions, the so-called arbitrary ones, which satisfy their own quantum statistics.
