In phonetics labiodental describes the place of articulation of a sound. A labiodental is formed with lips (Latin labia) and teeth (Latin dentes). In German this is the voiced consonant "w" and the voiceless "f". Sagittal plane of the human oral cavity, oropharynx and larynopharynx. Articulations (active and passive): 1 exolabial (external part of the lip) 2 endolabial (internal part of the lip) 3 dental (teeth) 4 alveolar (front part of the tooth) 5 postalveolar (posterior part of the tooth and a little behind) 6 prepalatal (Front part of the hard palate) 7 palatal (hard palate) 8 velar (soft palate) 9 uvular (also postvelar) 10 pharyngal 11 glottal (also laryngal) 12 epiglottal 13 radical (tongue root) 14 posterodorsal (posterior part of the tongue) 15 anterodorsal (anterior part of the tongue) 16 laminal (tongues) 17 apical (tongues) 18 sublaminal (also subapical, underside of the tongue) ...
