WHAT DOES PARASAILING MEAN IN GERMAN?
parasailing
Parasailing is a common term for flying with a controllable parachute behind a vehicle, in particular a boat, since the middle of the 1970s. A special parachute is used, with nozzle-like or flap-like openings at its rear lower side, which ensure the necessary buoyancy. The origins lie in the idea of transporting a parachute jumper in a different way than by flying an airplane into the air. First attempts were made with a winch and then also with a car. At the top of the summit, the pilot was released and was able to fly independently. In the field of glider sailing, this has been practiced for a very long time by means of a winch. After the first attempts with a winch and a land vehicle, the idea of tasting it behind a boat on the much more harmless water was born. Without the need to prove this, various Internet sites independently report on attempts in the 1960s over parachute parachutes in France, Great Britain and the USA. An exact historical document is not yet available.
