pathogen

pathogenicity

Pathogenität

Pathogenicity is the basic ability of infectious organisms or toxins to make a particular organism diseased, even if not every infection leads to a disease. The adjective is pathogenic, the opposite is apathogenic. Disease pathogens are also referred to as the pathogen. The term virulence refers to the extent of pathogenicity, without a uniformly defined measure for it.
