Bushmeat

Bushmeat is meat from wild animals hunted in Africa and Asia. The term has particularly been used to refer to meat from animals in West and Central Africa. Today the term is often used to refer to a wider range of countries and especially in reference to the hunting of endangered ape species. In Trinidad and Tobago it is alternatively referred to as wild meat. Many conservation organizations have come together to address the bushmeat phenomenon through the formation of the Bushmeat Crisis Task Force, whose mission is to build a public, professional and government constituency aimed at identifying and supporting solutions that effectively respond to the bushmeat crisis in Africa and around the world.
