WHAT DOES REFLEXIVITY MEAN IN ENGLISH?

Reflexive relation

In mathematics, a reflexive relation is a binary relation on a set for which every element is related to itself. In other words, a relation ~ on a set S is reflexive when x ~ x holds true for every x in S, formally: when ∀xS: x~x holds. An example of a reflexive relation is the relation "is equal to" on the set of real numbers, since every real number is equal to itself. A reflexive relation is said to have the reflexive property or is said to possess reflexivity.

Definition of reflexivity in the English dictionary

The first definition of reflexivity in the dictionary is the relation between a reflexive pronoun and the subject of the sentence or clause that it refers back to. Other definition of reflexivity is the quality or state of being of or relating to an immediate involuntary response, esp one that is innate, such as coughing or removal of the hand from a hot surface, evoked by a given stimulus. Reflexivity is also a relation holding between any member of its domain and itself.
