Optometry is the science responsible for the primary care of visual health, through actions of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and correction of refractive, accommodative, muscular defects and diseases of the anterior segment. " Often, optometry focuses on measuring the refractive status of both eyes through procedures such as schistoscopy or retinoscopy and, above all, through ocular refractive methods. In this way, many visual anomalies such as myopia, hypermetropia, astigmatism, keratoconus or strabismus are detected, compensated and corrected, among others.
