WHAT DOES BAROPHILE MEAN IN FRENCH?

piezophilic

Piezophilic organisms are living beings that can live only in hyperbaric pressure like bacteria and more particularly the Archaea living in the oceanic shallows. Many vertebrates, invertebrates and microorganisms are found where the pressure often exceeds 380 atmospheres. Some of these piezophilic organisms were found at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean where the pressure was 117 MPa. The bacterium "MT 41" was found at a depth of 10 700 meters in the Mariana pit at a pressure of 1100 atmospheres at a temperature of 2 ° C. This bacterium dies on surface at ambient pressure and no longer reproduces when the pressure is less than 380 atmospheres.
