विशेष—इस नगर के खँडहर अबतक बंबई के पंचमहाल जिले के अंतर्गत है । ईसवी १५वीं शताब्दी के अंतिम भाग तक यह
एक राजपूत सरदार के अधिकार में था । पर सन् १४८२ में
अहमदाबाद के बादशाह महमद ने राजपूतों के आक्रमण से तंग
आकर इसे ले लिया और इसके पास ही महम्मदाबाद चंपानेर
बसाया । इस नगर को हुमायूँ ने सन् १५३३ में उजाड़
दिया । सन् १८०३ तक इसमें ४००, ५०० आदमियों की
बस्ती थी । पर अब दो चार घर रह गए हैं ।
