विशेषतः विंध्य पर्वत के जंगलों में अधिकता से पाया जाता है । इसके धड़ में चीरा लगाने से एक प्रकार का बढ़िया
गोंद निकलता है जो पानी में बहुत कुछ घुल जाता है । कहीं
कहीं यह गोंद कपड़े में माड़ी देने के काम में आता है और
छीपी इसका व्यवहार करते हैं । छाल और फल अच्छे
वारनिश का काम दे सकते हैं । इसकी लड़की उतनी मजबूत
नहीं होती पर लोग उससे खिलौने, मुठिया और दरवाजे के
