L'urdu quindi è l'indostano dei Musulmani e il hindi l'indostano degli Indù, nè
sembra che le due varietà della stessa parlata possano mai fondersi, tanto più
che l'una si scrive con i caratteri arabi, l'altra con quelli sanscriti (devanagari).
