Al-Aqusa Mosque [Al-Aqusa Mosque] Islamic temple in the old city of Jerusalem, the ancient capital of the Palestinian region. It is built on the hill of the temple which is a holy place of Judaism, Christianity and Muslim, with the dome of the rock. Early in the 8th century, it was founded by Waleed I of Umayyad. After being rebuilt several times, it became the present building in the 11th century. Silver dome.
