Al Jazzar Mosque [Al-Jazzar Mosque] Islamic temple in the old city of Akko in the northern part of Israel. Constructed at the end of the 18th century by Ahmad Al-Jazzar, governor of the Ottoman Empire who protected Akko from the siege of the French army led by Napoleon. It is known as masterpiece of Ottoman architecture. In 2001 it was registered as a World Heritage (cultural heritage) under the name "Akko's Old City". Al Jazare mosque. Jazzar Pasha Mosque.
