Yekaterinburg
Yekaterinburg (Russian: Екатеринбург, Latin script: Ekaterinburg, or Yekaterinburg) is a major city located in the central part of the Russian Federation and is the capital of Sverdlofsk. Sometimes it is written as Ekaterinburg. From 1924 to 1991, it was called Sverdlovsk (Sverdlovsk, Свердловск) to commemorate the revolutionary Sverdorof, but now it was returned to the former name. The name of the state is still the state of Sverdlovsk.
