balcony
The origin of the balcony is estimated to be Italian balcone, scaffold, German gore balcho, beam, balk, bālkāneh of Persia or pālkāneh, an older derivation of Persia. In the theater, the balcony was called the grandstand next to the stage. Now, however, it refers to narrow floors below the top floor seats on the second floor seats.
