Goyang Island is an island of 1.27 ㎢, which belongs to the goddess of Yodo-myeon, Gunsan City, Jeollabuk-do. The population is 948 as of the end of 2010. It is located north of Gunsan Port, about 12 km from the Gunsan Port Coastal Terminal. Originally, the eastern part of the island had a wide bay with tidelands, but it became a cultivated area by reclamation, with 10% of the island's total area and 20% of its land area, compared to other islands in the west. Two-thirds of the residues consumed by the residents can be covered on the island itself, and vegetables can self-sufficiency. There are many people who are anti - farmers, especially in winter. The villages are formed around the pier on the southeast coast, and the northern beaches of the island are famous for summer beaches. Major institutions include police boxes, public health centers, and elementary schools.
