macintosh
The Macintosh, often abbreviated as a Mac, is the name of a personal computer designed, developed and sold by Apple. Originally released on January 24, 1984, the Macintosh was the first commercially successful personal computer to adopt a graphical user interface and mouse instead of the prevailing command line interface. However, most people around the world now use IBM PC compatible devices. The Macintosh was expensive and did not reveal its interior. In the late 1980s, Apple gradually began to roll out its IBM-compatible PC market share, which used both MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows in the 1980s. Apple has attracted a wide range of consumers with its iMac desktop model, which showed the resurgence of the Macintosh brand in 1998 with successful sales. Today's Mac systems are mainly targeting markets for home, education, and professional workers.
