Definition of 맹란분 in the Korean dictionary
It is the word which appears in the "obscene branch" of the obsessed person and shows the suffering of the punishment hanging upside down. It is said that the Magnolia was derived from the story of saving mother in hell, and the immortality of the ancestors who saved the ancestral soul from the world of suffering after death began. 맹란분 ‘맹란분경’에 나오는 말로 거꾸로 매달리는 형벌의 고통을 나타내는 말이다. 목련존자가 지옥에서 어머니를 구하는 설화에서 유래되어, 조상의 영혼을 사후의 고통 세계에서 구제하는 맹란분 불사가 시작되었다고 한다.
