소로카바
Sorocaba is a city in the southern Brazilian state of Sao Paulo. Population 590,846. It is located about 100km northwest of Sao Paulo, at an altitude of about 600m. In the late 16th century, gold was expected to be buried and the pioneers reached it. However, gold was not found and has been stagnant for a while. Since then, when the 19th century American Civil War ended with a shortage of cotton used in Britain, Britain began to develop as it began to pay attention to this place as a new cotton substitute for the United States. Cotton cultivation became active in this area by the British capital, and the cotton industry started. Since then, the city has been nicknamed the Manchester of Sao Paulo in the name of Manchester, the headquarters of the textile industry.
