Baptism
Baptism generally refers to the charity ritual of water practiced by many religions, including Christianity, Mandaeanism, and Sikhism. Christian baptism comes from the mikvah, one of the Jewish charities. The word baptism is derived from the Greek word, βάπτειν, which is inferior meaning "dipping, bathing, or washing". For some groups with religious convictions, the baptismal ceremony is exactly the same as immersing something completely into the water, so that the water is over. On the other hand, for other groups, baptism is a symbolic term meaning "to associate with", and has nothing to do with the mundane charity.
