Dinosaurs are reptile animals inhabiting the earth almost 230 million years ago, in the Mesozoic era which was the "Dinosaur Period". The word "dinosaurs" means "terrible lizard" in Greek and first used by Dr. Richard Owen to depict these animals in 1842. Not all the animals that lived in the prehistoric times were considered as dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are also available in different types and sizes. Its size differs from 30 meters in length and 15 meters in height up to the size of a chicken. Dinosaurs are also various. There are species that live in flocks and some live alone. Some eat meat and some eat herbs. Dinosaurs have the characteristics of breeding such as birds, which make nests, lay eggs and take care of children. Hard-skin dinosaur eggs. These eggs are buried in boards made from twigs of wood, dry plants or mud. The eggs can also be buried inside the curve on the ground covered with plants or sand. Dinosaur merupakan haiwan reptilia yang mendiami bumi hampir 230 juta tahun dahulu, yakni pada zaman Mesozoik yang merupakan "Zaman Dinosaur". Perkataan "dinosaur" bermaksud "cicak yang dahsyat" dalam bahasa Greek dan pertama digunakan oleh Dr Richard Owen untuk menggelarkan haiwan-haiwan ini pada tahun 1842. Bukan semua haiwan yang hidup pada zaman prasejarah itu dianggap sebagai dinosaur. Dinosaur juga terdapat dalam pelbagai jenis dan saiz. Saiznya berbeza daripada 30 meter panjang dan 15 meter tinggi sehingga saiz seekor ayam. Kehidupan dinosaur juga berbagai-bagai. Ada spesies yang hidup dalam kawanan dan ada yang hidup bersendirian. Ada yang makan daging dan ada juga yang makan tumbuh-tumbuhan. Dinosaur mempunyai ciri-ciri pembiakan seperti burung, iaitu membuat sarang, bertelur serta menjaga anak. Telur dinosaur berkulit keras. Telur ini ditimbus di dalam sangkak yang dibuat daripada ranting-ranting kayu, tumbuhan kering ataupun daripada lumpur. Telurnya juga boleh ditimbus di dalam lekuk di atas tanah yang dilindungi dengan tumbuhan atau pasir.
