Hafiz is a title given to a man who has successfully memorized the Koran. This title is also given to the hadith scholars who have successfully memorized, studied the hadith and interpreted it very well. Hafiz merupakan gelaran yang diberikan kepada seseorang lelaki yang telah berjaya menghafaz al-Quran sepenuhnya. Gelaran ini juga turut diberikan kepada para ilmuan Hadis yang telah berjaya menghafaz, mengkaji sanat hadis tersebut serta mentafsirnya dengan baik sekali.
