Kedah
Kedah State or also known as Kedah Darul Aman is one of the 13 states that formed the Federation of Malaya. Kedah is located north of Peninsular Malaysia and has an area of 9,425 km2. The mainland has a fairly flat terrain, which is used for planting paddy. In the north, Kedah borders the state of Perlis and borders internationally with Songkhla and Yala provinces in Thailand. It also borders the state of Perak in the south and Penang to the southwest. The capital and royal seat of the state is Alor Setar. Other developed cities are Sungai Petani and Kulim on the mainland, and Langkawi on the island.
