Lotud

Lotud is one of the ethnic groups living in Sabah, East Malaysia on the island of Borneo. They live mainly in the areas of Tuaran and Telipok in the West Coast Division of Sabah. Their population is estimated at 5,000 in 1985 but is now believed to have been more than 20,000. They are sub-ethnic groups of Dusun, also known as Kadazan-Dusun. The Dusun family is one of the branches of the Malay-Polynesian language, which is the Austronesian branch of the language. Almost all of these tribes embrace Catholic religion and some evangelical Christianity, with fewer animism practicing.
