Metrology
Metrology is a measure of knowledge that covers all aspects of theoretical and practical measurement. The term comes from the Greek word μέτρον, "measure" + "λόγος" which means "argument, word, study, balance, knowledge" etc. In Ancient Greek, the term μετρολογία means "ratio theory". Metrology is defined by the International Bureau of Scales and Measures as "measuring knowledge that includes experimentally and rigorously determined determinations at any degree of uncertainty in any field of science and technology."
