Absorption (optics)
Absorption - in optics the process of absorbing the energy of an electromagnetic wave by a substance. The light intensity of the beam passing through the substance is reduced not only by absorption, but also by light scattering. As far as scattered radiation leaves the body, the absorbed part disappears causing an increase in the internal energy of the body.
