Civil Status Act
Civil Status Act - a single entry in the civil status register which registers the civil status of a person through official recording of certain events. There are three types of acts in Polish law: birth certificate, marriage certificate and death certificate. Acts of civil status are the sole evidence of the events identified in them. This means that the marital status of any person can only be established on the basis of such acts and their non-compliance can only be proved in court proceedings. An act of civil status is often mistaken for a copy of the act - the books of the USC are misleading. In addition, there are no records of civil status in the parish.
